Welcome to the Ballymena & Antrim Athletics Club website

We hope you find it both informative and helpful. Whatever your age, level of fitness or athletic ability, we welcome you to our Club where we believe there is something for everyone to enjoy.

You will find sections that give you the latest on what the Club is doing, including NEWS items, a list of FIXTURES, and a GALLERY of photographs from recent events which together demonstrate the breadth of activities in the Club.

ABOUT THE CLUB includes a brief HISTORY of the Club, which has now been active for over 60 years.  We also invite you to MEET THE TEAM of Coaches and Officials who are dedicated to provide the support and coaching needs of over 400 athletes of all ages from 6 to 60+.  We also invite you to come and TRAIN WITH US at the Tuesday and Thursday sessions all through the year. We encourage fundamentals to come and have fun whilst learning some of the basic elements of Run, Jump & Throw. We provide Circuit Training in the winter months at a school in Ballymena to ensure athletes maintain their fitness levels.

We have provided a section on WELFARE and you will see from our policies and practices that we take Safeguarding and Child Protection seriously in order to provide each of our athletes a safe environment to train. The USEFUL INFO section includes minutes of our Annual General Meeting, a downloadable membership form, and other Club information.

Train with us

As you have seen, we have an impressive group of Coaches who can offer athletes training in a wide range of events.

For Primary School children, we offer a programme of circuit training in the winter and track and field work in the summer. This is an opportunity to experience the elements of run, jump and throw in a fun and safe environment, learning the need to prepare for exercise and the correct techniques for improvement.  Some of the older Fundamentals will go on to compete in local competitions. For Junior and Senior athletes, we run circuit training in the winter along with training at the Antrim Stadium throughout the year (check dates and time on the Home Page).
